Design Talks Program

Under the overarching theme “Illuminated: A Spotlight on Korean Design”, Design Miami.In Situ | Seoul presents a curated series of four design talks, including a collaborative session with Herald Corporation. The program addresses a wide spectrum of topics: the role of Korean creativity in the collectible design market, the positioning of Korean designers within the global art ecosystem, the cultural significance and objectives of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, and the evolving global trends shaping contemporary K-Design. Together, these dialogues aim not only to honor the exhibition’s central theme but also to critically situate Korean design within a broader international discourse on art, craft, and design. 

Our objective is to engage participating galleries, specialists, and designers in ways that foster deeper understanding, cultivate meaningful networks, and encourage collaborative exchange. Furthermore, the Design Talks initiative is envisioned as a platform for opening new horizons of dialogue and establishing enduring channels of partnership between Design Miami and Korea.

디자인 마이애미 인 시추 | 서울 - 디자인 토크 프로그램

“창작의 빛: 한국을 비추다”라는 대주제 아래, 디자인 마이애미 인 시추 | 서울은 헤럴드미디어그룹과의 협력 세션을 포함한 총 네 개의 디자인 토크를 선보입니다. 
 
 토크는 다음과 같은 주제를 다룹니다. 
 - 글로벌 시각에서 본 한국의 창의성과 컬렉터블 디자인 시장
 - 세계 무대가 주목하는 한국 디자이너들
 - 로에베 재단 공예상의 문화적 의미와 목적

- 동시대 K-디자인을 형성하는 변화하는 글로벌 트렌드

 

이번 대화들은 전시 주제를 기리는 동시에, 한국 디자인을 예술·공예·디자인에 관한 국제 담론 속에 새롭게 자리매김하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 또한 갤러리, 전문가, 디자이너들이 모여 깊이 있는 논의를 나누고 네트워크를 확장하며, 디자인 마이애미가 한국과 지속적인 파트너십으로 이어질 수 있는 장을 마련하고자 합니다.
